my new toy.

I recently bought myself a holga camera.



It's something I've been wanting to get for a while - this one i found in Urban Outfitters. They have a great range of 35mm and the original 120mm versions as well as film, fish eye lenses and flashes that can be used with the cameras.

Recently i've taken to drinking my chai lattes with soy milk....little did I know, soy takes a heck of a lot longer to cool down than the normal stuff.

So here i am, sitting in The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Santa Monica, working on my designs, eating my chocolate chip muffin and minding my own business. I reach over, pick up my cup and take a sip of my chai.... well HOLY MOLY.... good thing i only took a small sip coz i swear half the taste buds on my tongue are temporarily fried.

Coffee Bean, I love you, but please stop trying to fry my tastebuds.

A few recent purchases...

life on the other side of the globe.

So, I figured I'd jump on this blogging band wagon...and what better time to start than on an overseas trip. 

Here's an idea of what I've been up to these past few weeks...

Just a few things that have happened so far:

- I've drunk more chai lattes than should be legally allowed for one individual.

- I did my own washing for the first time in my life. lol.

- I've learnt that Hollywood can be brutal - I had the misfortune of being on Hollywood Blvd when someone committed suicide from the Kodak Theatre. 

- If traveling around LA via public transit - pack supplies, you'll be there for a while.

- I witnessed my first Super Bowl.

- I've learnt that love and company can be found in the most unexpected places and at the most unexpected times.

For those of you not fortunate enough to know the Balch family - let me just say, they are some of the most wonderful, caring and generous people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. They're kindness and hospitality was truly a Godsend and I can't thank them enough for the time I was able to spend in their home.

I've met some incredible people these last few weeks, some I hope, I'll still be friends with even when I go back home. 

Anywho - I've got a huge city to explore. I'll be back soon. =]
